Modern House design – how to combine history with the new time?

A couple from California has purchased a bungalow from the period. The proximity to the beach and the historical value were very lovely. But the dark roof was anything but due to their contemporary facilities and collection of fine art photography.
The couple has commissioned the architect of Erik evens and the Interior Designer Alana Homesley from Woodland Hills to, helping them to solve this problem.
As a specialist in historic architecture, the evens has proposed the idea to paint the wood works.
Painted in the White House keeps still its contemporary character. But now the light is reflected and the furniture and works of art are illuminated. According to Stevens, the end product is the real proof of the correctness of this decision for him personally. In his opinion the House spans the bridge between the past and the present.

The wide entrance door leads directly into the living room and divides the space into two different seating areas. Lindsey Adelman was Designer. This is certainly an unconventional choice for this Craftmann Bungallow. But the designers were convinced that the room needs some “funky” style.
The blue-gray color of the living room was recorded also in the kitchen.

The architect of evens was able to accommodate four bedrooms and a bathroom on the second floor. In terms of this task, he has redesigned the staircase and added a skylight.
