Vehicle with style created

On the 65th anniversary of Land Rover Defender, Studio job has designed a unique model of the classic 4 x 4 vehicle. The end result is a masterpiece, a compilation of their work in all its layered facets.


A great car requires above all a great appearance, which is a risk in itself in this case – you always, know what to expect from Studio job. In their own way, they have created an ode to the vehicle that allows us to actually dream of adventure in Africa. It is much more than a simple, revised, or coupled vehicle. The result is a sculpture that asks questions about the escape from reality, relationships and even about the work of Studio job.

“To design a car a higher target is synonymous as a hotel to redesign – it is intended. You deal every day with such tasks”- says Job Smeets, who trains with Nynke Tynagel of Studio job.

Land Rover was divided and exploited as well as a project that is – slipped from the hand taunting and celebrated, laden with stories and decorated with a variety of materials. The engine has remained in place, but is anything but a comfortable experience to drive the vehicle. One of the four wheels has been replaced by a wagon wheel. A different bike is a miniature version of Capitol Hill.A huge Rhino looks like a golden phallus on the bonnet and a spotlight has been replaced by a candle that shines in the darkness. The stained glass Windows take turns viewing magical masks…
