6 hints for a well designed bathroom
An essential part of the design is how we blend together the objects with different sizes, weight, proportions and patterns. The architects use the extent to create interest and balance sheet. Look at the following six bathrooms and read our comments.
Use similar shapes in different sizes
The similar shapes – squares and squares or circles and hexagons – in different sizes are interesting and skillfully move the eye in space.
In contrast to most bathrooms, where the square and square tiles are typical, this bathroom circular elements – hexagonal tiles, round mirror and round bath mats. We have a fun and minimalist environment.
White hexagonal tiles on walls, floor and sink make bigger and brighter the room.
Play with a material
The selection of a basic material for the color scheme of your bathroom harmonizes the elements in a pleasant look.
Here is a good example of the application of a main material for a peaceful feeling. The big 30 time 60 cm tiles reduce the amount of grout lines and the room seems stretched out. The simplicity of a material makes the presence of the artwork in the room – the silver cow head – really impressive.
Use different sizes and shapes of materials and furniture
The conversion between the sizes of furniture and materials combines the individual parts in different ways.
There are many scale examples in this classic bathroom. The size of the floor-ceiling varies with the basket fabric tiles on the floor, the medium-sized Metro tiles for the paneling and the great dry lining wall up to the ceiling.
The window design connects the basket fabric tile floor pattern and proportion. And because the ceiling is quite high, the high wooden chest of drawers next to the tub in place is – it combines the space from floor to ceiling.
The grouped objects of same magnitude bring rhythm and diversity. Don’t forget the relationship between wall sconces and vanity in the bathroom.
Because of the level of the table and the table are the same width, the sconces should have same width. Instead of a large horizontal lighting, the designer has used a collection of three wall chandeliers above the level, so that the rhythm and the power of the number three.
When working with a material, you use different sizes
The wooden boards on the ground and wall in this beautiful barn bathrooms are of a size, the boards on the basin wall are tighter, and the Deckenbretten between the roof rafters are still different.
The application of the same material in different sizes – a gimmick with scale – have just nicely done this bathroom.
Use contrasting forms
Sometimes the application of same form can bring harmony and sometimes the application of different shapes can make a good contrast.
