Ultra modern and innovative architecture – Taipei pop music Center
The first sod of the Taipei pop music Center was officially opened, thus begins the process of the architectural expression of the global phenomenon of Taiwanese pop music. The award-winning design of company Reiser + Umemoto, based in New York, is divided into three monumental buildings, refer to and symbolize the various programs. The main hall, a spacious versatile mass, has a room with a seating capacity of 5000, and serves as the central stage. With a clear fan-shaped exterior, the art building uses glazed and flexible beams in the Interior, which form areas of demarcation between the sprawling Hall and the circular-centric areas outside the building. The Hall of Fame is housed within a raised cube-shaped area, where revered and exhibits the history of pop music is. Lightweight volume with dynamic envelope and illuminated media wall is the Platonic solids.
The lighted, the prismatic industrial shell is fully equipped with recording studios and rehearsal rooms for the promotion of new talent. In addition, a generous free light place which is suitable for impromptu concerts in the open air, is equipped with cafes and restaurants.
