First you need 2x DIN A 5 sheets of paper (these should weigh more than 60 g, in practice this is a split one DIN A 4 sheet ) Which are superimposed. One sheet is used for the Pop Up effect and the other becomes the card cover. It is smart to take both in the same color. Also prepare the card styles from which you will cut the pop ups.

Customize the front of the card
Create the pop ups
As mentioned above, we use the second DIN A 5 sheet to create the Pop Ups, which should appear inside the card when unfolding. Shortly before that, we cut out all the elements from the card types and adapted them with stamps, felt-tip pen and colorful pencils.
Prepare the pop-up items separately
Accurately measure, fold and fold
Now we should make a functioning pop-up mechanism from the inner sheet of the resulting map. For this purpose we draw parallel lines from the fold in the middle to the edge with the aid of a ruler and a pin, so that some columns are formed. Parallel to the bend, you determine the distance of the two outer verticals that form the”edge of the stage”(see pictures)
Check the Pop Up mechanism
Make sure that all surfaces are correctly cut and kinked! Carefully attach the elements prepared from card types with paper glue and correct the cuts or the entire structure, if necessary. It is important to perform this step correctly before proceeding.
Stick everything together
If everything is right, you can carefully assemble all loose elements. First, glue the front of the card together with the”stage”. For this purpose, it would be extremely important that the top and bottom edges are exactly one on top of the other. Protect”the step”from glue!
