You need the following ingredients:

  • 300 g flour
  • 125 g of butter
  • 200 g sugar – even better powdered sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 5 drops of vanilla flavor
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 30 unpeeled almonds
  • 100 g of raspberry jam

Witchfinger Bake: The preparation

First place the flour, the butter and the egg in a large bowl and mix well the ingredients with the medium-level mixer until a homogeneous mixture forms.

Then add the salt, the baking powder and the vanilla flavor and stir the whole thing again to a smooth mass. Slowly add gradually the flour and stir continuously with the blender. The dough becomes slightly lumpy. But this can be deformed excellently with fingers. So, first knead it into a compact mass.

Preheat the oven to 160 degrees. Place a large baking tray with baking paper or grease it with some oil. Begin to roll out the actual witchfingers from small pieces of dough, as shown in the picture below.

With a sharp knife you halve all the almonds. You can either leave them unpeeled or boil briefly in hot water and pellet. We prefer the unpeeled version because it looks much more realistic and creepy.
