Milan 2012: 14 young designers have gathered around an ideal habitat for an exhibition called the front room to create: geometry and color in a listed Milan House this week.

The show includes a coffee table and Wall lamp from Daphna Laurens ‘ Cirkel collection, Phil Cuttance vases and Mieke Meijer furniture inspired by industrial structures are the Faceture.

Wall lamp with style
The front room must accommodate many versions by ourselves, but it is a place where we present a unique identity through the language of the products we choose. It is a space where our families gather, and for which we are collecting families of objects.
Geometry and color is a presentation of new objects for the front room
Front room: Every object is a fresh version of its predecessor, and all are United by the ritual character of the geometry and very modern color palettes. If a deviation from the amorphous shapes that have occupied the design world in the last few years, cleans this newly success-rich group with an element of playfulness.

SWELL 2011 – the project works by combining the production in one step. Instead of massive blocks of foam to pour, cut to the right size, glue these separate pieces on a wooden frame and hand sewn to a fabric. Swell as the original form used the foam the fabric and frame. This leads to fewer steps in the production, less material and less time-consuming manual work. Because the foam fills the fabric, no material in cut-offs is wasted. Since the foam acts as a binding agent between the fabric and the frame, no additional adhesives or sewing are required. HUMMINGBIRD, 2012 – the name reflects the quiet limbo between indented and deep relaxation. In the sitting position, the user can be upright and awake. With a gentle slope and shifting of weight, the Chair created a comprehensive sensation, which produces the feeling of tranquility. The objects that surround us, must adjust to a richer mix, living arrangements, living and work situations. The Hummingbird accentuates this dynamic lifestyle without sacrificing the value of history and simplicity.

MYLTADA, 2012 – shelter is a collection of room divider from specially selected materials that are carefully unscrewed in new geometric patterns. In response to the machine fabric structures Henny, the tissue was unscrewed by hand to create new geometric patterns within the tissue. The project has been through the most recent travel to China have been inspired. The beautiful architectural features appear in many Ming / Qing imperial palaces and gardens have influence in the use of color and form.

The New York City collection bulk and wave – it takes much effort to change our old ways of thinking and to achieve the desired results. What is whatever the result, it is always unique and everyone perceives it differently. The works are asymmetrical and can not be seen as our inner spirit. In addition, I have “welded waves”, which works as a copy of our transience. The processed metal has been exposed to nature as we have chosen the way to reflect our environment. Both objects were produced handmade in my Studio in Maastricht and only the best materials.
