The history of the Proust armchair precedes his Italian master. The year was 1978, the place – Palazzo dei Diamanti in Ferrara, Italy. The past, present, and future of the designs of the 20th century was presented with a piece of furniture. The Proust was named Chair in its aesthetic splendor as a design icon. The armchair, influenced by neo-Baroque could stay on his pedestal, but Cappellini has inherited the piece of furniture in 1993 and was looking for more inspiration. So the new Proust Geometrica has designed, by the designer Alessandro Mendini.
The Proust Geometrica preserves the wood frame, but still looks as no other version of the three decades. The incredible fabric is so remarkable that he who turn to the most experienced designers in awe. A powerful blend of humor and pop art Chair playing padding of the Proust Geometrica ideal with its bouncing curves. Even the frame is painted in color.
