Ergonomic furniture and technology of the future
Product and interior designer Philippe Starck shared some interesting predictions about the future of design in New York in 2012. He demanded a small amount of Manhattan styling in this March, “there is no future [the design]. If the product is bionic, there is no product in the end. “Referring to the phenomenon as”the elegance of the minimum”, he imagined that at some point we all would be implanted with microchips. In other words, we would be the product!
Okay, it might take a few years and none of this forecast could prove itself in reality as “correct”, but what does all that mean for the future of furniture? Have we seen how concepts such as smart Home technology to change the design world, but how has technology changed the design of residential furniture and the role of these products in our lives? What technology still houses the furniture…
