Foliage by Patricia Urquiola for Kartell – red upholstered sofa
Milan 2011: The Spanish designer Patricia Urquiola presented this small sofa with frames made of plastic at the Salone Internazionale del Mobile in Milan during fashion week there.
Design called foliage, offers branch-shaped thermoplastic plastic legs and a seat made of polyurethane foam, covered with stretchy fabric, crisp with a leaf-shaped motif.
The leaves form a Crown, which rests on a frame of branches
Dialog between natural conditions and fake leaves the sofa is clearly the graphic trade mark, by Patricia Urquiola, as an object that looks as if it has of course grown in plastic. The leaves form a Crown, which rests on a framework of branches that virtually make up a seat. Foliage is a sofa with a big personality, which shows a seat with stitched embroidery on four round feet. Cosy and soft, foliage offers two spacious seats. The seams run over the entire surface, as well as on the back, to make a stand-alone piece of the sofa, which can be seen from all sides and be placed even in the middle of a room.
