There are strange and unique plants in the world. Some are how we know carnivorous. It has also a good explanation. Carnivorous plants grow in places with nutrient Earth. You need something else than this to survive.

There are many different species of plants with such habits! Here are just a few of those:

Sarraceniaceae (Sarraceniaceae)

This is a family of carnivorous plants. They grow in Texas, in the United States, and also in southeastern of Canada.

Their leaves are funnel-shaped. You have something like a hood. They protected the leaves out of rain. Hose plants attract insects by color, aroma and delicious nectar.

Pitcher plants (Nepenthes)

The Nepenthes is the generic term for more than 130 species of carnivorous plants with Bodenfallen. They are common in China, Malaysia, Indonesia, Madagascar, the Philippines, Seychelles, Australia, India, Borneo and Sumatra.

Most are very high and can reach between 10 and 15 meters. You have a wide root system that is rather superficial.

Genlisea (family Lentibulariaceae)

There are more than 20 known subspecies of Genlisea. They grow in damp to half aquatic environment. Genlisea are widespread in Africa and South America.

It’s small herb with yellow flowers. You have two specific type of leaves. The first are photosynthetic and grow above ground. The others spread underground. The second kind of pulls, starts and eat tiny organisms. Those are for example the protozoa.

Cobra Lily (Darlingtonia californica)

This plant comes originally from North America, and more specifically from Oregon and California. It grows in swamps or other aquatic environments with running cold water.

Unlike many other carnivorous plants, the Cobra Lily has an interesting looking snake tongue. It is directed mainly to the ground and so the Cobra Lily catches their prey.

Bladderwort (Utricularia)

More than 220 species of carnivorous plants belong to this genus. They grow both sweet and salty waters. Carnivorous plants are the only ones which feed about catching bubbles.

Pinguicula (Pinguicula)

This type of carnivorous plant has sticky leaves. Succulents, grow the Flash traces in many different. With the leaves, the Pinguicula catch insects and eat them. Pinguicula are common in North, South America, Europe and Asia.

Sundew (Drosera)

Sundew more than 144 different plants belong to the genus. They grow on all continents except for Antarctica. Sundew plants are stretched out or upright rosettes. You grow up between 1 cm and 1 m.

These plants can survive for 50 years.
