- 300 g of powdered sugar
- 2 x egg whites
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon
- 3 tablespoons of almond syrup or liqueur

The cinnamon stars Preparation:
Either by hand or with a mixer – first put the finely ground almonds in a large bowl and mix well with the powdered sugar. Gradually add the egg whites (without hitting them stiffly), add the cinnamon and almond syrup and knead into a sticky dough. Spread the worktop with baking paper or sprinkle with flour. Put the cinnamon dough on top and knead for a while until the mixture becomes even more homogeneous.
A little flour on it helps against the annoying sticking
Roll out the dough to 1 cm thickness and cut out beautiful stars using the cookie cutter. Each Zimtstern comes then successively on a baking sheet, which is also designed with baking paper.
Of course you can also try other cookie cutters
For the glaze: Beat the egg whites until stiff and fold in the powdered sugar. Mix the ingredients together until a homogeneous, snow-like mixture is obtained. Brush each cookie with the baking brush and then bake in a preheated oven at 150 degrees for about 10-12 minutes.
Christmas can come!
Magnificent cinnamon stars with white glaze.. delicious!
- Before cutting out every single cinnamon star, dip the cookie cutter into some icing sugar, so the dough does not stick to it anymore.
- Instead of 500 g of almonds, you can take about 350 g of it and replace the rest with hazelnuts or other nuts.
- If you like, you can beat the egg whites stiff in the dough before, but the cinnamon stars will then be a bit harder in consistency.
A couple of interesting facts about cinnamon
Did you know that cinnamon grows on trees? Yes, exactly – on the so-called cinnamon trees. Genuine cinnamon comes from Sri Lanka and is very healthy in contrast to the spongy cassia cinnamon. This delicious spice is earthy and warm in taste. It even lets the extra kilos tumble without any physical exertion. In addition, cinnamon lowers blood sugar, regulates blood lipid levels, lowers bad cholesterol and blood pressure, and protects the blood vessels. Cinnamon has a warming effect, boosts your metabolism and also has a strong anti-bacterial and immune-boosting effect. Not for nothing is cinnamon considered one of the best and oldest natural remedies in the world.
