- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 1/2 cups of flour

- 1 egg
- 1/2 teaspoon red food coloring, liquid
- 1 teaspoon Almond extract
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup minced peppermint candies
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Prepare delicious Christmas dessert yourself
And this is how it’s done:
Preheat the oven to 160 degrees. Cut the butter into small pieces and let it soften briefly at room temperature. Then put the butter, powdered sugar and egg in a large shatter-proof bowl. Vanilla extract and Add the bitter almond flavor and mix well with the blender. After a smooth mass has formed, add the flour and salt to it. Continue to stir with the blender until the dough is even and good for kneading. Because this dough is not supposed to go, it will continue without a break! Namely, this saves you valuable time.
Divide the dough into two equal halves and mix one half in a bowl with the red food coloring. From each dough halves each tear off a small piece and knead into small balls. Sprinkle a little flour on the work surface and roll out of the dough balls beautiful elongated rods. In this way, work the remaining dough. In the end, there should be as many red and white dough sticks as there.
Instead of red life color you can also use cocoa or another color
Then start to shape the candy cane cookies. Namely: One white and one red dough bar lightly pressed together and with light turns, the two rods evenly, like a spiral, wrap around each other. Finally, bend slightly at one end to create the hook of the candy cane. Finished!
Now all that remains is to place the raw cookies on a lightly greased baking sheet and to bake for about 10 minutes until they are slightly golden.
Now Christmas can finally come!
